Lecturer Sara O'Beirne has collaborated with the East of England Ambulance Service training department to produce an add on course to the Health and Social Care BTEC Level 3 extended diploma. The course is an Introduction to Emergency Care in partnership with the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST).

This is an exciting new opportunity for those students joining the West Suffolk College - Health and Social Care course this coming September when for a period of six weeks the East of England Ambulance Service will be offering an insight into the role of Ambulance crews.

The aim is to not only show them what is involved but to actively encourage participation in a fun way to show students what a career in this sector would be like giving a development opportunity joining the Ambulance Service or moving on to undertake the Paramedic Degree pathway via one of our local Universities.

This six week course is the first in the area and the first collaboration of the college and The East of England Ambulance Service. Students who complete the course will have an advantage over potential candidates wanting to get a career in the ambulance service.
