Helping you go the right way

For a 30 day period we are looking to welcome visitors and students into the college at the start of the day.

The only entrances that will be open will be:

  • Gateway reception
  • Suffolk House
  • The entrance gate near Minden House
  • The gate alongside Leonardo House

All other entrances will be closed.

This in a new initiative for a 30 day period after which we will be reviewing the experience and impact on all.

Travel and Tourism students recently visited Virgin Atlantic Airlines for their annual Cabin Crew training day.

Music degree students work with Ed Sheeran

Creative and Commercial BA (Hons) students did front of house engineering for Ed Sheeran at the Roundhouse in Camden. Year 3 Davide Lombardi was Front of House Mix Engineer for the worthy event (Music for Mental Health) with three more degree students training with him. The event was a great success and all students got some of Ed’s guitar strings and a plectrum.

West Suffolk College will be closed to students on Friday 1st February 2019 due to a Professional Development Day for teaching staff. The library will be open but with no staff so please use the self-service machine.

Humanities and Social Sciences Access to HE Diploma Level 3

This course is a recognised pathway into Teaching, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing, Law, Politics and many other Higher Education degree programmes. It is designed to meet the needs of learners who may not have had the opportunity to enter higher education earlier in their lives. The course includes a wide range of study skills as well as professional careers guidance.

Welcome to West Suffolk College

West Suffolk College is in the top 5% of Further Education colleges in the UK for 16-18 year-old Level 3 student achievement and one of the country’s leading Apprenticeship providers, with achievement rates 10% above the national average. We offer more than 40 foundation and honours degrees at our focused and inclusive University Studies Centre. We have over 10,000 students and 1,500 apprentices studying with us and we work with over 800 employers. A fantastic 97% of students go on to further education, employment or voluntary work.
