Elective Home Education (EHE)

Our Elective Home Education (EHE) courses offers a person-centred approach to meeting the individual learning and development needs of its students within a safe, supportive and engaging environment. Our team of dedicated and specialist staff provide a diverse range of study programmes which are designed to help students to make positive progress towards their chosen learning, life and work goals.

  • What is a typical day like on the course?
    All sessions are 3 hours each with a break in the middle. Morning sessions runs from 09:15-12:15 and afternoon sessions run from 13:15-16:15.
  • How does drop off at the start of the day and pick up at the end of the day work?
    Students are either dropped off or travel independently to College and enter through the turnstiles in the Gateway building. At the end of the day students can exit through the Gateway to either travel home independently or be collected at the front of the building.
  • What subjects can students learn on EHE programmes?
    • Maths (Functional Skills or GCSE)
    • English (Functional Skills or GCSE)
    • History GCSE
    • Computer Science GCSE
    • OCR Combined Science
    • Introduction to Motor Vehicle Industries Entry level 3/Level 1
    • Introduction to Hair & Beauty Entry level 3/Level 1
    • Introduction to Hospitality and Catering Level 1
    • Performance Music and Media Level 1
    • Music Level 2 Art & Design Level 1
  • What next steps/ progression route can the programme/ pathway lead to?
    The majority of our students choose to stay with the College and access the 16+ provision. Others may go on to Apprenticeships or Scholarships. Whatever your progression route, your tutors/support team will help you with choices, application and preparation for your next steps.
