About T levels
T Levels are qualifications which will follow GCSEs and Technical Awards and offer an attractive alternative to A Levels and apprenticeships. Each qualification lasts two years and is equivalent to three A-Levels. T Levels will combine classroom theory, practical learning and a minimum 45-day industry placement with an employer to make sure you have real experience of the workplace.
About the course
The T Level in Health (Helping the therapeutic team) offers an in-depth investigation into the world of healthcare skills and practices with a specific focus on therapies within the Healthcare sector. The course offers a diverse range of experience into the roles of therapeutic science from physiotherapy, occupational therapy, Speech and language therapies, art and play therapy.
Entry Requirements
The entry requirements for the course are 5 GCSES at grade 5 and above including Maths, English and Science. Upon completion of the course, students will receive the equivalent of 3 A-levels, providing students with the key fundamental skills for their next stage of progression.
The course contents
This course is planned in consultation with and well respected by professionals within the industry. The 2-year programme explores through theoretical and practical learning experiences core elements of industry specific scenarios and develops key professional skills needed within the therapeutic roles. The course is designed to focus on the core of Health, Care and Science with additional occupational specialisms to enhance students’ skills through a variety of practical and theoretical learning experiences.
Learning through work placements
Additionally, students will complete a variety of industry specific placements throughout the course. Placements will be external placements that will enable students to apply their learning to real life scenarios.
Students will be allowed to put theory in practice and complete employer set projects throughout the duration of their placements. Students will develop key workplace skills that prepare them for vocational and industry specific readiness. Learners will be supported with their progression towards higher education and future employment based within the health science sector.
Take the opportunity to gain valuable work-related experience to give them engagement, insight, and connections to their future career within the industry.
Extra
Students may also gain additional qualifications and experiences through First Aid training courses and specific therapeutic qualifications to enhance the students experience and work readiness. Throughout the course, a variety of educational and industry visits will be complimented by professional guest speakers.
