tiny tots sing for elderly

A group of tiny tots from a Thetford nursery have started monthly visits to elderly residents in a care home after West Suffolk College childcare apprentices saw a documentary on the success of the scheme elsewhere.

The youngsters from Jelly Tots Nursery are visiting the residents of Alexander Court and singing songs to them as well as saying hello.

Lorraine Sims, work based learning co-ordinator in early years, said the first visit had been a great success; “The children seemed to bring light to the older people’s eyes and they were all smiling. They enjoyed watching the children sing their songs. I am sure the future visits will be just as good.”
