Graduates throwing their hats into the air at St Edmundsbury Cathedral at Graduation 2022Graduates celebrating by throwing their hats into the air at St Edmundsbury Cathedral at the University Studies at West Suffolk College Gradiation in October 2022.

A packed St Edmundsbury Cathedral saw over 100 students gain higher education qualifications at the 2022 University Studies at West Suffolk College graduation ceremony.

The occasion took place on Saturday 9 October.

A total of 133 students graduated in a range of subjects and courses – 43 with first class honours and 27 gained either an HND or HNC qualification.

Dr Nikos Savvas, CEO of the Eastern Colleges Group (which includes West Suffolk College, Abbeygate Sixth Form and One Sixth Form and University Studies at West Suffolk College), said:

“These students are incredible, and they should be applauded for their talents, dedication, and resilience. They truly deserve the accolades and praise that they receive.

“I found talking to the students about their next steps and plans inspiring. They are individuals who want to go on and help others, support our community, and create opportunity – and the qualifications, connections, and character strengths that they have worked tirelessly to gain will be a fantastic platform for them to open doors with.

“Education really is one of the best investments in yourself that you can make. I was humbled to be able to celebrate such a milestone day with the Class of 2022.”
