About the course

Whether you are an individual wanting to progress in their career, or an employer looking to upskill staff, skills in problem solving and decision making are a key element for any team leader or management role. Our online CPD solving problems and decision making course will provide the key skills, knowledge and understanding needed to carry out effective decision making processes and choose the best course of action. It covers subjects such as defining, investigating and analysing problems, data and information, evaluating problems, and planning techniques.

Entry requirements

  • Be aged 19+ on the 31/08/2025
  • Learners must be a UK resident and legally living in the UK on the first day of learning.(proof required)
  • Due to Government funding criteria, we are unable to accept learners who live in London, Scotland, Wales, N Ireland, Ireland or a devolved postcode areas. Please check with us if you are unsure.

What you'll learn (core modules)

Section 1: Defining, investigating and analysing problems

Learn how to describe a problem, its nature, scope and impact.

Section 2: Data and information

Discover how to gather and interpret information to identify possible solutions to a problem.

Section 3: Evaluating options

Learn how to evaluate options to make a decision and about decision making techniques to evaluate options to arrive at the best solution.

Section 4: Planning techniques

Cover how to plan, monitor and review the implementation and communication of decisions.
