This is a 6 credit Award intended for those who wish to gain an understanding of the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment, without any requirement to practice. It is suitable for you if you are wanting to move into a quality assurance role but do not yet have an opportunity to practice in this area, or if you simply want a better understanding of the processes and practices for quality assuring assessment. Those who need to know about quality assurance, but do not intend to practice (for example managers of quality assurers) are able to learn about essential principles and practices by achieving the knowledge unit only. It is usually assessed through assignments and professional discussion. This qualification usually takes 3 – 6 months to achieve.
