The School of Art & Design hosted a busy and inspiring visit from the Zentrum für Gestaltung Art College from Germany.
A total of 18 students and two staff from the college are staying in East Anglia touring various art-based locations. The German students viewed student portfolios and visited fashion and model making/animation classes.
Later in the day the visitors worked with our own UAL Foundation Diploma Art & Design in a drawing class taught by Derek Johnson (Director). Derek stated that ‘it was brilliant to have our visitors from Europe working alongside our own students. The German students and staff were really keen to dive-in and rose to the challenge of the drawing task. The work was fantastic and will be on show in Germany’.
The students also brought amazing gifts for the West Suffolk College students – and were deeply thanked for their generosity. It is planned that this will be the start of a partnership between the two art colleges – enriching the learning experiences of our students.
