Jodie Tayler ApprenticeHospitality and Catering Apprentice of the Year, Jodie Tayler - ‘Never give up on your dreams’.

Jodie Tayler won the hospitality and catering apprentice of the year award.

The 19 year old started from Sudbury on her course straight from school at the age of 16.

She chose to study on this pathway because of a passion for food and being creative.

Josie said: “I would love to travel the world with my professional talents to show off my skills and teach new people.

In terms of studying on the course she said: “This apprenticeship has helped me grow in to becoming a brilliant chef and be very creative and stand out in different ways. This journey hasn’t always been glory - I continued to struggle until I achieved my goals - so I have learnt to never give up on your dreams.”

Jodie has a word of praise for West Suffolk College and went on to say that ‘with the help of my tutors Cara and Jamie from I have made it - so a massive thank you to them for supporting me and encouraging me on this journey’.

On winning the award, Jodie said: “To have been nominated for this award was an amazing achievement for me and I couldn’t thank you all enough for choosing me for the apprenticeship of the year award. What a massive achievement for me this is. 

“I am still currently working for the Bridge Project in Sudbury who provide meals for the vulnerable and those who have learning disabilities and I will continue to learn, grow and gain more skills so I can be the best.”
