Level 3

'Logistics and supply chain management is regional, national and global - it is everywhere. Without it, the wheels of industry and ultimately the UK economy would grind to a halt. Logistics is a key part of the UK economy, contributing over £127 billion and employing 1.7 million people, around 5% of the workforce.' -Tracey Marshall, Head of School Business and Tourism.

Why choose International Supply Chain Logistics?
With a dramatic increase in online business and e-commerce and high demand for skilled talent in the industry there has never been a better time to study Logistics.  Logistics businesses are vital to keeping the UK trading, and more than seven million people are directly employed in the making, selling and moving of goods. If you have an analytical mind, curiosity about the world and ambition to grow this could be the course for you.

Where could it take me?
The maritime transport industry is a key growth sector in the UK, providing considerable opportunity for young people to develop a wide range of job skills and specialisms such as warehousing and storage, supply management, finance, marketing, HR, international trade, leadership in logistics operations, minimising the environmental impact of logistics operations, contributing to customer service and data analytics.  You could be working for a container terminal landlord, oceans carriers, operators, pilots or the logistics companies who handle incoming ships, look after passengers and shift boxes.

The course - what is it all about?
To meet local demand, we are excited to be offering this pioneering new course, which is supported by Careers Colleges Trust and STC, a specialist Port Logistics Further Education College based in Rotterdam, Netherlands.  As such they well be delivered in close consultation and with input from logistics experts, providing enhanced enrichment opportunities such as research visits, industry placements and collaborative project- based learning both in the UK and abroad.
The qualification has been designed to equip learners with knowledge and skills for the sector and lends itself to both classroom and simulated/work experience learning. The primary purpose of this qualification is to provide progression to a higher level of employment and/or study within the supply chain logistics sector.
