About the course
This free and exciting programme of study is an introduction to Higher Education and to Degree studies at West Suffolk College. Delivered flexibly in two ways, either live online for one week, or available to access at your own convenience over the course of two weeks, you will be exposed to a wealth of information and advice on your next steps.
The course covers a range of themes and topics to give participants taster sessions in a variety of interesting and engaging subjects. Delivered by experienced lecturers, it offers you a free opportunity to discover what learning at Access and Degree levels is all about. Many of our previous Step to Success students have gone on to enjoy successful programmes of study on our Access and Degree courses, leading to life changing experiences and higher levels of achievement.
This course welcomes all applicants over the age of 18. No formal qualifications are required to undertake this course, just your interest and enthusiasm.

- Higher Level Study Skills (e.g. Note Taking; Critical Thinking; Analysis; Library & Research Skills)

There are no formal assessments for this course.
Where is the course delivered? (facilities/classrooms)
Online delivery due to Covid-19. You can choose to join us live from 9.15 - 3:00 each day, week commencing 29th June, 2020, or you can chose to access the course and resources over a two week period at times to suit you, supported by tutorial sessions with lecturers.
Where will this course take me?
Whilst this course does not give a formal qualification, it provides an excellent springboard and introduction to studying at higher levels. It is therefore, particularly suitable for those looking to apply/undertake degree study, or apply for an Access to Higher Education Course.
