Overview of course
If you spend your days hunched over a computer, driving in rush-hour traffic or carrying heavy bags then here is the perfect antidote. Pilates is the ideal exercise for our busy 21st-century lifestyles. You don't need to be in a studio or have special equipment to do a Pilates work-out: you can practise any time, any place, fitting it into your daily routine in the way that's most convenient. Quite simply Pilates will help anyone and everyone improve their posture and flexibility, increase core stability and move comfortably with better control and balance.
What will I learn?
Students will be taught to align their body perfectly before starting an exercise, and then to focus on individual muscle groups and work them without putting strain on other areas. Anyone used to the pumping rhythm of an aerobics class or the ache of muscles after lifting weights will be astonished by the gentleness of Pilates. Even though the exercises are deceptively simple they are so effective that you needn't perform more than ten repetitions of each at a session before seeing the following benefits: A flatter stomach; Muscles which feel more toned; Joints which are looser and more supple; A spine which is stretched and straightened; Improved posture as you strengthen the body's central core muscles, helping you to stand straight and hold your upper body correctly. Pilates requires total concentration, as you breathe to enhance the effectiveness of the movements and focus on the feelings in your muscles.

Will I have to provide anything?
Please bring your own mat and we practice pilates barefoot or socks so just wear something comfortable, most people opt for a T-shirt and jogging bottoms.
