Overview of course
This course is intended to give students an introduction to how to speak to groups effectively and give them the tools to do so with confidence.
What will I learn?
This course will cover the fundamentals of public speaking and will cover such topics as: how to put a speech together, body language, over coming nervousness and composure.
By the end of the course, students will be able to deliver a talk of 4-8 minutes to a group on a subject that interests them.
Who is the course for?
The course is primarily aimed at those who are new to public speaking, with little prior experience who wish to improve their ability, and for those wishing to enhance their speaking confidence and general esteem. This course may also benefit those for whom English is an additional language who wish to improve their quality of spoken English.
Will I have to provide anything?
A willingness to learn and a smile. Basic writing tools would also come in useful.
Access to the main college car park is via Beeton's Way (IP33 3TT). At your first session please go to Main Reception in The Gateway where you will be met by the tutor or directed to your classroom.
