About the course
This exciting course provides full-time learners with the opportunity to develop the knowledge and the range of skills which are essential for a successful career in the business or travel and tourism sector. The structure of the programme provides an innovative and creative curriculum, covering core areas such as the business environment, social enterprise, marketing, communication and all areas of employment opportunities within the travel and tourism industry. Throughout the course, learners will develop personal and professional skills, possibly through work experience and visits to different companies. Delivery strategies will include real life project-based scenarios involving industry 'clients', competitions and challenges.
Entry is by interview. Applicants will need to be motivated and be able to manage their own time. Learners will need to have a mature and responsible outlook, as they will be required to work with a high degree of independence throughout much of the course.
This is a unique opportunity to achieve two qualifications within one course. As well as achieving a Level 1 BTEC Diploma in Travel and Tourism and level 1 award in IFS.
What you'll learn (core modules)
Learners will be timetabled for three days per week with two independent study days which will support research and investigation. Trips will be arranged during the year to support curriculum delivery. Work experience will also be a part of their learning experience.
