This qualification comprises two units, a knowledge unit and a performance unit. It can only be achieved by individuals who are carrying out assessment of learners in a classroom, training or workshop environment, usually preparing learners for work. The assessor-trainee must be able to assess at least two learners on at least two occasions. The assessor-trainee must be using a minimum of three assessment methods with their learners - these can be simulation, skills tests, questioning, assignments, projects and case studies.
The Award has a 9 credit value and is usually assessed through a combination of assessment methods: you will need to be observed carrying out assessment activities and this is supplemented by assignments, examination of work products, questioning and professional discussion.
There are no formal academic entry requirements but you must have made arrangements before the course starts to have learners to assess.
