This one year course is suitable for those seeking to work professionally in the Health and care sector, providing a valuable foundation for progression onto university degree courses or employment. This course is an excellent choice for students interested in healthcare careers - nursing, midwifery, paramedic technician, physiotherapy.
Learners are likely to have already gained qualifications at Level 3 or A level and may be considering a change in their career direction and seek to enhance their learning and university application through taking this one year course The course is equivalent to up to 1.5 A levels and additionally provides the important work placement to enhance applications to advanced study.

It is a full time course. You attend college three days per week and additionally usually one day is out in placement throughout the college year.
This work placement offers the opportunity to work in a variety of adult health and social care settings.

Entry requirements
The minimum requirement is 6 GCSEs at grade C or above (Grades 9 -5) or equivalent to include Maths and English.
Ideally have some level 3 qualification
In addition all students must:
· Have an interview with a member of the course team
· Have a clear DBS check

This course will give you a BTEC Level 3 Extended certificate in Applied Human Biology , a and Core Maths.

There is a course book available to purchase, or there are a limited number available in the library
