About the course
T level in Healthcare Science: During the 2-year programme, students will develop the core knowledge and skills that are needed for entry to a range of healthcare occupations involving the study of Health Sciences with core elements and occupational specialisms that make this a good mixture
- The Healthcare Science is a prestigious and rigorous vocational academic qualification, the equivalent to studying 3 A-Levels, which provides learners with the opportunity to develop knowledge, understanding and real-life skills surrounding the Health Science Industry.
- of practical and theoretical skills development. Learners will be assessed through a variety of methods; these involve both internal and external assessments which will allow learners to develop their vocational and study skills.
- Additionally, there is an Industry Placement with an external employer to enable students to transfer their learning into real working environments. Students will also complete employer set projects that further develop workplace skills in order to prepare for vocationally based future educational programmes and work readiness. This is supported by some of the region's largest healthcare science employers.
- Learners will be supported with their progression towards higher education and future employment based within the health science sector. They will be given the opportunity to gain valuable work-related experience to give them engagement, insight, and connections to their future career within the industry.
Entry requirements
Students are required to have entry requirements of 5 GCSE grade 5 or above of which English Math and Science should be a minimum of grade 4
Qualifications
The main study programme qualification is the T-level Healthcare Science - this is equivalent to Three A levels and carries the same UCAS points
Additional Training and Qualifications are also run throughout the course including First Aid and MECC training.
What you'll learn (core modules)
The first year of the course is split into two core components- Core A- Health and Social Care. Core B Applied Health Sciences and you will sit an Employer Set Project relating to working in Healthcare Science

The second year of the course has a focus on Skills and Knowledge. this part of the programme is closely related to your Industry placement where you will develop new skills and knowledge that you will them be able to apply to Healthcare Science set assessments.
