This study programme is designed for 16 to 19 year olds (aged 19 to 24 for students with an Education, Health and Care Plan).

All courses take place on our Sixth Form Campus, therefore any applicants aged 25+ or over who do not have an Education, Health and Care Plan may be required to complete a DBS check as part of the conditional offer to West Suffolk College. The cost to the applicant for a DBS is £30.00 and the DBS check can be completed through the college.

About the course

This programme is designed to support students interested in the field of social sciences- including psychology, criminology and health and social care. Students study all three components which build to support individuals to achieve equivalent to three A levels- the programme has a large examination component.

Entry requirements

5 GCSE grade 5 or above including Math and English 

Qualifications

In the first year of the programme, you will achieve 

- Certificate in Applied Psychology
- 1 internal and 1 external assessment 
- Extended Certificate in Criminology
- 1 internal and 1 external assessment 
- Certificate in Health and Social Care
- 1 internal and 1 external assessment

How will I be assessed?

This is 50% coursework and 50% External examinations- some coursework is also completed under exam conditions
