What you'll learn (core modules)
Over this one-year course, students will be taught by experienced tutors and will have the opportunity to develop their own work throughout the year and will perform both in the College theatre and offsite as part of external commissions. All students will build an individual portfolio that will give them a strong foundation in acting and performing. The course works on a project by project basis and consists of both practical and theory lessons. Projects include devised theatre and improvisation pieces as well as scripted pieces both classic and modern. Technique classes will be both for acting for stage and screen. Students will have the opportunity to take part in many other extra-curricular plays and will mix with all other Performing Arts students during warm-up and other shows.
Any student aged 16 to 19 who does not hold a GCSE A* to C (9 to 4 on the new grading structure) or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English by age 16 will need to continue to study these subjects in each academic year.
