Overview of course
The Dental Nurse role complements the role of other dental professionals. One of the primary roles is to provide chairside support to dental professionals and deliver a high level of patient care. Dental Nurses may work in a variety of clinical environments and this course reflects all aspects of clinical responsibilities and duties of a dental nurse's role and will provide the relevant qualification to apply to the General Dental Council (GDC) for professional registration as a Dental Care Professional and work within the GDC Standards for the Dental Team and Scope of Practice defined by the GDC Scope of Practice document (Sept 2013).
Whilst any entry requirements will be a matter for individual employers, typically learners might be expected to have achieved 5 GCSE's including Maths and English, Grade C or above or 4/5 (new grade). Some employers will accept other relevant qualifications and experience, including a relevant Level 2 qualification.
On completion of the course, you will have achieved:
- City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing
- Skills for Success - This module is designed by West Suffolk College to ensure you have all the personal skills and behaviours to succeed in the workplace.
