About the course
Thank you for your interest and application in the NEW Level 2 Advanced Technical Certificate in Nail Treatments. As you know, this is a fast-growing industry and we at West Suffolk College are thrilled to be able to offer you the opportunity to study with us.

Students are given the opportunity to work with experienced and qualified staff and collaborate with Theresa Foddering (The Naildresser) and lead trainer for Lecente.

How will I be assessed?
There is a variety of methods used to assess your work during this course:
Level 2 Nail Treatment - Theory exam.
Level 2 Nail Treatment - Synoptic exam (Practical exam)
You are also required to take part in Work Related Experience, this must take place in industry throughout the year. You will work with a coordinator to arrange this.
Leading up to the Synoptic Assignment practical assessment you will be supported thought several formative assessments aimed to prepare you for these formal exams.
Where is the course delivered? (facilities/classrooms)
This course will be delivered within the Academy of Hair & Beauty Studies, main campus West Suffolk college.
We have a new state of the art Nail Studio.
Where will the course take me?
Achievement of the Level 2 Technical Certificate in Nail Treatments demonstrates to an employer that you have the necessary advanced technical skills to be employed as a Nail Technician.
This qualification could lead to a job as a Nail Technician working in one of the following areas:
- Nail bar/salon
- Beauty salon
- Media
- Cruise ship/hotel
- Trainer

Kit:
These will be ordered using the order forms provided by West Suffolk College.

Flat black shoes (not trainers)
Stationary:
1 folder (large ring binder)

How much will it cost?
There is an approximate cost of £560 for the 2x kits and uniform that MUST be purchased.
The course is free for any students aged 16-19 and 19-23 years of age.
The cost of the course for 24+ is £1,500
Any student over the age of 19 will need to pay full costs unless they are in receipt of benefits, the Student Welfare department will be able to help you with this application. If this is the case, you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan that will pay for your course fees.
