What you'll learn (core modules)
There are 3 Units that make up the Level 4 Professional Diploma in Creative Enterprise:
Unit 1: The Creative Entrepreneur
This unit introduces you to the fundamental business skills needed to kick-start a creative business venture.
Unit 2: The Creative Practitioner
This unit allows you to develop your creative skills further through research and the development of your specific skills.
Both Units 1 & 2 are assessed at Pass or Fail through the submission of a Creative Portfolio.
Unit 3: The Creative Enterprise
This unit is the culmination of your Creative Portfolio development where you will formalise and present your own sustainable creative enterprise through a professional presentation.
Unit 3 will complete your Level 4 qualification and provide your final grade at either Fail, Pass, Merit or Distinction and is externally moderated by the University of the Arts London.
Benefits, skills and character strengths
We have a record label called 'Digital Saint Records' and commercially release compilations throughout the year on platforms such as Spotify, iTunes, Deezer and Amazon Music to name but a few. All students are given the opportunity to submit a track for consideration, and our in house A&R team review and select tracks.
We encourage all students on the course to work on real life projects, working with local businesses and the community, whether this is artwork for events, books or posters, to running sound for events, designing promotional material or developing your own fashion brand. It all depends upon your long term aspirations and the industry within which you plan to gain employment.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is through the achievement of a Creative Portfolio for Units 1 and 2 and through a final presentation of a creative enterprise venture for Unit 3.
The course follows specific learning outcomes alongside 'live' projects that will allow you to develop your specific skills further as well as having the opportunity to work in a professional industry environment.
Where will the course take me?
This one-year course will give you the opportunity to develop your portfolio further and to establish yourself as a freelance artist/musician/film producer/fashion designer/dancer (the list is endless) who is looking to create their own products or services for their own business.
It will also give you the chance to gain further skills prior to entry to University or specialised higher education such as: Art/Music/Dance Conservatoires and Film/Drama School.
