Overview of course
This language course is intended for those who have completed 3 years of evening classes or those who can converse with some fluency in everyday situations.
What will I learn?
The aim will be to broaden the vocabulary base to enable students to gain a greater understanding when listening and reading from authentic materials. Speaking will be developed further and students will be encouraged to give their opinions in the language.
More grammar will be introduced including the use of compound verb tenses. There will be further practice in writing e.g. correspondence and short texts. The lessons will include tutor-led activities followed by practice in small groups and pairs. Materials may include listening to tapes, CDs, videos and DVDs. Students will practise speaking in role-play, games and informal conversation using new technology as appropriate.
Some homework will be available every week for those who wish to spend more time consolidating their learning. It is a great help for you and the tutor if you can devote some private time to studying each week.
Will I have to provide anything?
Pen and paper.
Access to the main college car park is via Beeton's Way (IP33 3TT). At your first session please go to Main Reception in The Gateway where you will be met by the tutor or directed to your classroom.
