Overview of course
The course is intended for people who have an interest in writing fiction or non-fiction for pleasure. It will introduce some of the key concepts of creative writing: character creation, plot, dialogue and setting.
What will I learn?
The course will explore the basic techniques of writing style and give you greater confidence to write across many genres and forms, including short and long fiction, journalism, non-fiction and poetry. It will cover areas including characterisation, writing styles, points of view, settings, plotting, the importance of the first paragraph etc. It will have a broad outlook, but will focus on the specific needs of the individual writer.

Burgeoning writers who wish to hone their technique and writing style.
