About the course

T-Levels are qualifications which will follow GCSEs and Technical Awards and offer an attractive alternative to A Levels and apprenticeships. Each qualification lasts two years and is equivalent to three A-Levels. T Levels will combine classroom theory, practical learning and a minimum 45-day industry placement with an employer to make sure you have real experience of the workplace.

The Course
Our T Level in Education and Childcare allows you to develop your knowledge and understanding of a broad range of topics such as, child development, safeguarding and special educational needs all of which are essential elements to master for a successful career in the field. Alongside this, you will also learn about the role of the family and various support agencies. Education and Childcare is a diverse and fascinating subject - you'll be able to delve into the specifics of social interaction, how language is acquired and understanding behaviour. You'll also build your skills in becoming a reflective practitioner with an understanding of the broader context of education. You'll then be able to choose a specialism that is designed to support your interests and ambitions and enable you to progress in a specific area. This is where you can get deeper into your chosen subject, developing and practising the skills needed for your chosen career, higher apprenticeship, or degree.
As part of this T Level programme, you need to complete an industry work placement in an Early Years setting where you will gain hands on experience in working within the sector, allowing you to put theory into practice and apply the knowledge that has been gained.
