This course provides an opportunity for students to develop as industry-ready computer games designers. It combines theoretical grounding in visual art and media theory with extensive hands-on games development skills. Students will design, create, code and release their own games and digital assets throughout their studies and as an integral part of their programme. Exposure to industry through incoming experts and participation in national events and fora will be a standard part of the student experience.
The course will support students to understand traditional and more contemporary modes of game design, develop their visual design abilities, enhance their coding and general production standards, and help them become adept at using critical evaluative techniques to develop their own work and support their peers.
