During this course, you will learn essential skills to be able to produce silver jewellery, using traditional silversmith techniques, and you will create two pieces. One will be a bangle or cuff, and the other will be cufflinks or earrings.
What will I learn?
Basic silversmith practical skills including;
Cutting, annealing, texturing, shaping, and simple soldering and polishing.
Also included will be health and safety, introduction to the tools, about silver
Who is the course for?
Suitable for beginners who wish to discover making beautiful silver jewellery using traditional silversmith techniques
Will I have to provide anything?
You will need safety glasses and a dust mask. A notebook and pen/pencil will also be needed.
Please wear clothing which you don't mind getting a bit dirty.
Tools will be available, but you may wish to purchase some of your own. We will discuss this in the first session.
Materials will be required: The cost will depend on the size of the items you make but around £25 - £30 for the first project and £15 -£20 for the second. The course tutor will supply materials.
