Overview of course
A dynamic course which will enable you to make an arrangement you will be proud of from the first lesson! This course will show the three main directions floristry can go in, e.g. hand-tied, arrangements and wiring. A practical demonstration by the tutor every week followed by the students recreating the design aided by the tutor. The aim is to create a different design each week.
What will I learn?
This course provides basic flower knowledge and care. Advice on wholesale buying and suitable wedding flowers, if that is of interest. A different design is created every week by students. A practical demonstration by the tutor every week followed by the students recreating the design aided by the tutor. The aim is to create a different design each week. Students will learn 2 different methods to create bows, different styles of wrapping flowers and colour harmonies. You will create items, such as; a posy, gift wrapped bouquet, hand-tied bouquet, single ended spray, buttonholes, circlet and a corsage.
Will I have to provide anything?
Scissors (if you do not have floristry scissors, a pair of kitchen scissors will be fine). Note pad & pen. Additional costs: Each week flowers will need to be brought in by students. A list of the appropriate flowers will be given to students. All sundries will be available to buy from tutor on the day for approx £2.50 per week.
