Overview of course
- Would you like to learn the art of beautiful writing? This short workshop will introduce you to the art of fine writing, using a variety of pens and nib sizes. Under guidance from the tutor, students will explore many different scripts which helpm make lettering come alive.
What will I learn?
By the end of the workshops, students should be able to
- Hold and use a calligraphy pen correctly;
- Mark up your paper for writing on;
- Write in at least two different scripts
Who is the course for?
No prior knowledge or experience is required as this is intended to be an introduction to the skill.
Will I have to provide anything?
Please do not buy anything especially for the course until you have been contacted by the centre staff with advice about what to bring.
You will need a calligraphy type pen, ink (if it's a dipping pen), broad-nibbed felt pens, an HB pencil, a t-square or 12' ruler, your favourite poems/prose/recipes etc., eraser and a pad of inexpensive A3 paper.
