Overview of course
This is a 1 day workshop designed for those who are working in, or studying for, accountancy or bookkeeping. You your Excel skills let you down when you are applying your financial skills? Is it a long time (or never) since you had formal training in Excel? If it is then this course will remind you of these essential skills to handle complex financial spreadsheets effectively. It will make sure you have the tips and tricks to complete your Excel activities more effectively and quickly leave you to concentrate on managing rather than reporting.
What will I learn?
- Review of the basics
- Selecting cells quickly and effectively
- Using tables
- Sorting and filtering
- Working with multiple worksheet and workbook windows
- Pivot tables - what they are and when to use them
- More advanced formulas and functions e.g. SUMIF, IF, VLOOKUP
- Finding and using financial functions
- Conditional formatting
- Creating charts
Who is the course for?
Those with a basic understanding of Excel but who want to learn more to help improve their effectiveness in handling financial data.
Will I have to provide anything?
Computers and handouts will be provided; however, if you have one, you can bring in a USEB (memory) stick so that you can take home the example files and work completed in the course.
