About the course
This course is only for learners who have completed the Carpentry and Joinery Level One Diploma, who have not yet gained employment and wish to continue their studies.

What you'll learn (core modules)
Knowledge of information, quantities and communicating with others. Information, quantities and communication. Knowledge of building methods and construction technology. Any student aged 16 to 19 who does not hold a GCSE A* to C (9 to 4 on the new grading structure) or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English by age 16 will need to continue to study these subjects in each academic year.
Benefits, skills and character strengths
Learners who have completed the course may either progress onto the Level Three Diploma (Carpentry and Joinery) full time course, or gain employment and join the apprenticeship programme on a day release course at the College.
Of the students who completed this course last year 6% continued with Further Education and 65% secured employment.
