Overview of course
The Award in Leadership and Management is a sharply focused qualification, introducing the range of knowledge and transferable skills needed to manage in today's rapidly changing business environment.
Employers have identified many benefits arising as a result of their managers undertaking the ILM management qualifications and these include:
- Better performance and productivity
- Increased motivation
- Reductions in absenteeism and accidents
- Enhanced organisational image and increased creditability.
Each qualification requires the learner to achieve learning credits within the new Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF). The Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management requires the achievement of between 4 and 12 credits. Following completion of the Award, managers can go on to complete the Certificate.
The Award is delivered by attendance at 4 fortnightly workshop sessions, which cover 4 Units, resulting in 6 credits. Assessment is through written assignments and a professional discussion.
The course fee includes all tuition fees, course materials and the costs of registration and certification with the ILM.
This course is at West Suffolk College, Bury St Edmunds
There are no formal entry requirements but participants will normally be practising or aspiring first line managers who have the opportunity to meet the assessment demands and a background that will allow them to benefit from the qualification.
All potential candidates will need to complete an informal interview to ensure the qualification meets their development needs.
