About the course
This decorating qualification is for students interested in continuing a career, within the very varied, vibrant, and creative Painting and Decorating industry.
City and Guilds Level 2 Decorating Diploma or relevant trade history.
The qualification offered is the industry recognised: City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Painting and Decorating.
What you'll learn (core modules)
This one year course is an extension of the Level 2 Diploma in Painting and Decorating. The programme expands on the following skills: Painting, Wallpapering, Stencilling, Glazing, Marbling, Gilding, Centre Pieces, Cornice, Graining, Broken Colour Effects, Roller Work, HVLP Spraying, Colour Schemes, Using and Erecting Access Equipment, Airless Spraying.
Any student aged 16 to 19 who does not hold a GCSE A* to C (9 to 4 on the new grading structure) or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English by age 16 will need to continue to study these subjects in each academic year.

Where will the course take me?
Many students, who achieve this Level 3 qualification, set up business on their own businesses and trade as Qualified Decorators.
Will I need any materials or equipment?
Safety boots, bib and brace overalls, course text book. You will also be required to purchase two polo shirts supplied by the College.
How much will it cost?
The course is free to anyone under 19 years of age.
