Overview of course
This qualification and assessment route is solely designed for experienced personnel who are currently working or have been working in the electrotechnical industry as a practicing electrician for a minimum of 5 years. They must be in a position to demonstrate their technical knowledge, performance and competence to industry standards at Level 3 and in line with the current edition of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
Successful completion of the Experienced Worker Assessment Route will be judged to have met the eligibility requirements sufficient to apply for an ECS Card from the JIB in the occupation that they have qualified.
This assessment route is not suitable for new entrants to the Electrotechnical industry, apprentices or other operatives who require any training or those who have completed an Electrotechnical technical certificate with less than last five years relevant industry experience. These candidates would be required to undertake either the L3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, structures and the environment) (2357) or the L3 Electrotechnical qualification (installation) or (maintenance) (5357).
As part of the programme of assessment to achieve this qualification it may be considered necessary for the candidate to take a CPD qualification such as the IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671) or Inspection and Testing. Please see our website for further information on dates and prices.
