Introduction

Construction is a great place to plan a career with new innovations in robotics, digitised design and construction information (BIM) and offsite production techniques. New routes into professional careers are being established as ways of addressing the skill shortages.

This course is designed to prepare and develop construction management specialists for a range of technical, professional and management career disciplines in construction and the built environment.

The course aim to provide key skills and knowledge of the construction industry and the roles and responsibilities of construction management including professionalism and problem-solving techniques. You will develop personal attributes which are central to the role of the chartered builder and provide a platform for professional recognition and membership progression to the Chartered Institute of Building and Chartered Association of Building Engineers CABE.

The course will enable you to explore the subject area, developing your own knowledge and skills, and preparing for your future. The scheduled sessions on this course are an essential part of your learning, but so too is the time you spend online, in independent study, in collaborative activities with your peers and in completing assessment activities.
