About the course
A course suitable for learners who wish to seek a career in the Carpentry and Joinery industries or for people already employed in the industry who need to achieve a qualification in Carpentry. This course covers all the basic hand skills needed to get a start in this profession.
No formal qualifications are required for this course but it is expected in the first instance that the applicant will have a genuine interest in the construction industry and each applicant will be required to attend an interview to ascertain his/her suitability.
A stand alone Carpentry and Joinery course.
What you'll learn (core modules)
Learners will be taught by professional tutors who are regularly professionally updated in construction techniques, in a trade specific workshop in The Milburn Centre. The course is only practical teaching, using the latest techniques and equipment. This programme will run one evenings a week.
How will I be assessed?
Only practical task need to be completed.
Where will this course take me?
Successful completion of this course can lead onto the Level 2 course or onto a Level 2 Apprenticeship (this is subject to securing a placement in the construction industry).
