Overview of course
This 1 day course is designed for experienced plumbing and heating operatives and is suitable for all those who are responsible for designing, installing and maintaining hot and cold water services. It meets the requirements of the revised Approved Code of Practice and Guidance: Legionnaire's disease: The control of Legionella bacteria in water systems 4th Edition 2013 (ACOP L8) and the technical guidance HSG274 Part 2: The control of Legionella in hot and cold water systems.
The course contains theoretical training on current legislation and the process involved in carrying out a thorough Legionella risk assessment of hot and cold water services and aims to ensure operatives have the knowledge, skills and understanding to undertake the disinfection process competently and safely.
Delegates must hold a recognised trade qualification in plumbing and heating and a working knowledge of central heating, hot and cold water systems is essential as well as holding a recognised Water Regulations or Water Byelaws qualification.
Assessments normally consist of a combination of practical and theory examinations.
