Overview of course
Would you like to learn the art of beautiful writing? This short workshop will introduce you to the art of fine writing, using a variety of pens and nib sizes. Under guidance from the tutor, students will explore many different scripts which help make lettering come alive.
What will I learn?
By the end of the workshops, students should be able to
- Hold and use a calligraphy pen correctly;
- Mark up paper for writing on;
- Write in at least two different scripts
These skills can be used to enhance home-made cards and pictures.
Who is the course for?
Anyone with an interest in beautiful writing. No prior knowledge or experience is required as this is intended to be an introduction to the skill.
Will I have to provide anything?
Students are asked to bring with them any calligraphy pens they may already have (but not to purchase specially as the tutor will have plenty for them to borrow)
Also a pencil, a ruler, paint brushes if they have any and some plain white paper. Photocopy paper is ideal! All other items such as paints, inks, coloured pencils and brushes will be available for students to use.
I'm interested. What should I do now?
Enrol on line or contact the centre for further information.
