Overview of course
The aim of this course is to practise different approaches and techniques of painting and drawing and to experiment with and improve on existing skills.
What will I learn?
We will go through various techniques in basic drawing and painting in watercolours, oils, acrylic or pastel. The course will include still life, landscapes, flowers and scope for development of your own ideas. The objectives of the course will be dependent on ability but in general the following will be covered: Producing a sketchbook of work, understanding watercolour techniques e.g. washes, glazing and wet on wet. Use of different media e.g. charcoal, pen, pastel, acrylic and oil. Understanding the colour wheel and the mixing of colours in any medium.
Who is the course for?
Will I have to provide anything?
Please bring whatever medium you are used to working in. Beginners will need an A3 pad of cartridge paper, 2B pencil and rubber. Advice about buying additional or new painting resources will be given at the first session.
