Overview of course
This is a course for those who wish to learn how to paint and draw or to improve on existing skills in a relaxed and informal setting.
What will I learn?
The tutor will provide a full list of the topics to be covered at the start of the first class. Following a brief demonstration by the tutor, students will look to produce their own work using a variety of styles and concentrating on composition, colour theory, spatial relationships, the use of tone to create structure and depth and how to draw accurately from observation. Throughout this course students will cover a variety of subjects using different art techniques and media and the tutor will introduce students to the styles and works of other artists.
Who is the course for?
Anyone with an interest in painting and drawing.
Will I have to provide anything?
Equipment needed: Artist/large sketchpad, pencils or existing equipment, jam jar or equivalent for water. Students are not expected to buy large quantities of materials and should check with the College first before making any major purchases.
