Overview of course
This course is designed to offer a fully rounded experience offering students an opportunity to discover the connection between the physical, emotional and spiritual. Using guided meditation techniques and the opportunity for personal reflection , the tutor will offer students the tools to enhance their mental well being and step away from the stresses of everyday life.
What will I learn?
Through meditation, we can learn to enhance areas of our brain and actually rewire it to reinforce positive traits like focus and decision making and diminish the less positive ones like fear and stress. Most importantly, by repeating the practice frequently and consistently and making meditation a part of your daily routine even if only for a few minutes, can mean that the changes for the better can be long-lasting. Over the four weeks of this course, the tutor will guide the group through demonstrations, explanations and discussions which will aim to offer an insight in to how becoming more self-aware can have beneficial effects on both our mental and physical well-being. Studies show that meditation aids better management of stress, anxiety and depression and it is reported that medical benefits may include increased immunity levels and lowered blood pressure along with better sleep. Students may find their concentration levels improve; they can learn to be more in control of their responses; discover how to better manage anger or stressful situations and increase their overall energy levels.

Will I have to provide anything?
Students should wear comfortable clothing and a notebook and pen would be useful to make notes.
