Technician Demonstrator in Animal Studies – 18.5 hours per week- £11,839.72 – £12,644.19 

(Full-time Equivalent £23,679.45 - £25,288.38) - West Suffolk College –Bury St Edmunds –Permanent

Come join us on our exciting journey with our NEW Animal Centre based in Bury St Edmunds!

The successful candidate will be passionate about animal welfare and be keen to pass this to our professionals of the future.

You will be required to assist with practical sessions for a variety of students, being patient and consistent in your approach. Your role will be to support our Animal Centre’s teaching staff; from resourcing to the daily care of our animals.

Role Responsibilities

  • Ensure the highest standards of welfare, health and safety and safeguarding are adhered to throughout the academic year.
  • Strive to constantly improve the provision
  • Design and deliver schemes of work, lessons plans for practical activities and assessments.
  • Record and report on learner progress

Required qualifications, skills and experience

  • A proactive approach to resolve issues as they arise. 
  • Attention to detail
  • Accurate record keeping and recording
  • Experience of caring for exotic animals would be an advantage
